Convention 2018

Halls Lake is abuzz with planning and preparations for the “My Fair Lady” NWA Convention in 2018!  Dates are April 26-28, at the Embassy Suites in Lynnwood, Washington.   Our theme is based on the movie version of the famous musical starring Audrey Hepburn.  The setting is Edwardian (early 1900’s) London. Think big hats and black and white for the “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly” MOY Luncheon and pastel gowns for the “Embassy Ball” Installation Banquet.  We are planning for a vintage fashion show for the Luncheon, and an elegant setting for the Banquet.  Other events include “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face” Meet and Greet during the hotel Manager’s Reception, with a free alcoholic or soda beverage and light snacks, “With A Little Bit of Luck” Raffles and Boutique, and “I Could Have Danced All Night” Friday Night Party.  Costume Balls were a favorite event for the upper classes in Edwardian times so everyone is encouraged to come to the Friday Night Party in a costume that represents one of your favorite dance styles.  It can be from any era.  There are many styles to pick from including Latin, Scottish, Irish, Balkan, country western,  waltz,  hula, jive, rock, tap, folk, hip hop, belly, foxtrot, ballet, polka, modern,  Charleston, break dance,  disco, and many more. Our NWA ladies are amazing at getting gussied up with a theme in mind and having a ball. We can’t wait to see all the outfits that will be part of all of our special events!
